you are my happy

ImageIn moments of despair or destitution, a simple act of kindness can act as a beacon of hope.  A light in the dark, if you will.  A kind deed can provide a reminder that there is good in the world, and that things can turn around for the better.

The kindness of others has seen me through some of my most trying times, and when things are going well, I like to return the favor by paying-it-forward.  My friend Ashley designed “You Are My Happy” stickers for the RAH RAH RAH project, and I decided to switch things up by asking people to give them to others.

I scribbled “please give this sticker to someone who makes you smile” on each of the stickers, and then I placed them all over the Eloise Butterfly Garden.

  1. I love everything about this. What a great idea. I just found you through the MN bloggers page and I have had so much fun reading through things on your blog. Love all the happy.

  2. What a gorgeous garden, it looks like somewhere I could certainly get lost for an afternoon (or longer) 😉 I love the sign that states “Let nature be your teacher”. I have downloaded and printed a set of six stickers that I will be placing in a local nature center this afternoon. Thanks for spreading happiness … I am more than happy to carry on your movement down here in Florida 😉

      • Getting to the park before the lunch crowd arrived, I felt almost mischievous sneaking around looking for clever locations to place my stickers without being noticed. It was so much fun to know that I was providing the opportunity for someone to stop and smile, and then pass it on to someone else. It circled right back around to me. When I was leaving the park, I was passing individuals and couples that I knew would come across these virtual smiles. It brought a smile to my face and a glow to my heart.

Everyone who reads this post has the opportunity to do the same thing. I almost left the post as a thought in my memory when I realized that we all need to take responsibility for paying it forward. Stop reading, print out one sheet of these little tokens and spread them somewhere in your community. I challenge you 😉 You will be happy that you did 🙂
