Practicing gratitude is a win-win situation for happiness. A grateful person recognizes the importance of the people in their lives, and a recognized person (the person receiving the thanks) feels connected to their social network.
Gratitude is on my mind with Thanksgiving just around the bend, and so today’s rah rah rah project involved leaving little “I am thankful….” notes around 50th&France in Edina. Hopefully, the recipients paused to reflect on their blessings, and, with any luck, felt a bit of happiness when they reflected on what they’re thankful for.
How would you fill out the card?
I am thankful for my family, my friends, and all the friends I have made in the blogosphere. 🙂
Also, in all my time in/near the cities, I never heard of or stumbled upon Fashion Avenue! Where/what is it?
oh gosh, that’s too funny – i was thinking that fashion avenue was the name of the cobblestone street behind the shops on 50th/france (see 5th picture) but a google search just revealed that is actually just the name of the store on the other side of the street… oops.
I was wondering where this little neighborhood was. I haven’t gone to 50/france in a while, but need to soon!
it’s so lovely.. tons of cute cafes. we should meet up, katie!
What a great idea! Will you go back to see if people filled them out and left them there to find?
i sort of envisioned that people would take them home, so probably not! i guess it would be neat if people just wrote a thing or two, left the card, and then other people added to the list? the more important thing for me was jus that people took a minute to think about it 🙂
Totally! The message is still there!
your pictures are pretty cool, like the upbeat vibe of the blog
very sweet of you to say so, thank you!
That’s such a pretty area! I have SO much to be thankful for… that card is too small 😉
haha, i definitely agree! i bet thanksgiving is going to be inspiring lots of gratitude posts in the blogosphere 🙂
Love this! And those first florals!
those florals are so gorgeous – i walked into the flower shop, complimented the women who designed them, and then asked if i could take a picture 🙂
I love the message in this post, but I must say that I got totally sidetracked by the beauty of this little avenue. I can imagine just taking a stroll down this space and feeling all my stress melt away. Maybe it’s not exactly like that, but the pictures surely make it feel that way, very nice!
As far as what would be on my card? I think I am most thankful for the people who stand beside me. Key word, beside. Not in front, leading me. Not behind, following me. But, beside me. Sharing the path we walk together in whatever way that means. Life is so much more meaningful when you share it with others who want to share it with you 😉
we have much in common 🙂 i didn’t intend to photograph the street as much as i did, but it was just so lovely that i felt inspired to capture it all 🙂
I love this post and what a great idea to leave those cards all over in a row of boutique shops! I have been there and I think that gratitude is just what is needed.
I am thankful for…
my love and soulmate, MR N
food on the table
roof over my head
my friends and family
social media friends
my writing ability
spreading the Light
You Jen
Thank you for reminding me to always be thankful for what I have!!! There are so many in this world who don’t have enough food to eat or a roof over their head.
Have a beautiful Friday and weekend! 🙂
you’re just the sweetest 🙂 when were you in edina? do you live in the midwest? there is so much to learn about you!!
HI Jen, I used to live in MN and still have family there! 😉 The last time I was in Edina was close to 10 years ago. 😉 I’m a mystery… :-p
such a great idea 🙂 i am thankful for…
my cat phoebe
my new apartment which is so comfy and “me” and everything i’d hoped for!
my friends who have been here for me through a tough year
my blog friends like you who are sweet, thoughtful and so encouraging!
there must be more but these off the top of my head right now! 🙂
i’m glad you’re loving the apartment as much as you hoped you would — phoebe seems to be loving it too 🙂 and aren’t friends the best? it’s wonderful having people around to help us through the hard times (and celebrate the good)
What a fun idea! I would love to run into one of these around my town 🙂 I am thankful for cozy sweater weather, a fun-filled weekend ahead, dear friends and family to spend the holidays with, and the fact that it is finally Friday!
That’s an adorable idea! Are you going to go see what people wrote?
i sort of envisioned that people would take them home, so probably not! i guess it would be neat if people just wrote a thing or two, left the card, and then other people added to the list? the more important thing for me was jus that people took a minute to think about it 🙂
What a wonderful sweet thing to happen upon! Your acts of kindness are truly amazing. I would fill mine as “I’m thankful for the people who believe in me.”
Have a wonderful weekend!
How would you fill it out?
