About Jennifer

1013978_10100222054827169_1273133740_nWe are what we love. We are the things, the people, the ideas we spend our days with. They center us, they drive us, they define us to our very core.

It’s always been simple for me to define what I love most: my family, my friends, sunlight, adventure, and art.  I believe in living creatively, and filling the days with as much laughter as possible.

I’m content with a calm life, and my ideal week is spent working on artistic projects, spending my nights with my husband, and enjoying weekends with friends and family.

I married my best friend on May 18, 2013. It was the happiest day of my life.

Fast Facts:

  1.  I’m never without a book, and I’m usually reading 2 or 3 at a time.
  2. A run and a sun salutation can cure just about anything
  3. If I haven’t had my coffee yet, I’m still sleeping (yes, even if I’m up and moving around)
  4. I believe in soul-mates, and I hope that every person meets their match.
  5. Monday morning I pick 3 new recipes, 2 old favorites, and 2 restaurants, and just like that, dinner for the week is planned.
  6. I smile every time my husband reaches for me in his sleep- I smile again when I realize this is a regular occurrence.
  7. I once spent 4 hours searching Cinque Terre for the best biscotti in the villages. I found it & enjoyed every-so-very-worth-it bite.
  8. I believe people too often search among branches for what is found in the roots. Okay, yes, Rumi thought this first: he was a good man.
  9. I feel in colors, think in designs, and believe that words are incapable of describing the things that matter most.
  10. I believe in celebrating the beginning of the month, the start of a new season, and, well, just about every time you can.

Heads up- If you like any of my wedding photos, check out Kate Bentley Photo.  She is based out of Eau Claire, but she is available to travel world-wide 🙂

    • PS- if y’all ever venture up to Minneapolis, I’d love to have you over for lunch. You might have read about how small my apartment is, but I promise you the courtyard is large and wonderful 🙂

      • Dang, wish we would have connected sooner, I just spent the summer in Minneapolis but am home in Milwaukee now! I think Kaitlyn and I will be venturing that way soon though! We would love that 🙂

  6. Your blog is so adorable! I love it. It also sounds like I have just met my best friend over the internet. If I could send you a hug and some rice paper rolls right now, I totally would. Thanks for stopping by Life Is Like A Dumpling!!

    • You’re sweet, but I would definitely not let you send me food in the mail. No way. No how. Food is meant to be shared, so you could send me a list of ingredients, show up at my kitchen, and then we could spent the night making those rice paper dolls together. My kinda’ dinner party. Anytime you’re in Minneapolis we’ll make it happen:)

  7. Wow! First off you are SO inspiring! You are doing the things I’ve always wanted to do and have inspired me to actually follow through with some of them! You have such a lovely blog, pretty soon you will probably be the head of a kindness movement! Thank you so much for being uplifting, positive, endearing, genuine and inviting us to participate right along with you! You are simply amazing! Love your blog! (Tried to follow this morning but computer was acting up!)

  8. I just wanted to thank you for following my blog Princess of the Light! You are so happy and funny! I adore your blog and it brings me back memories of when I lives in MPLS! Ahh, the memories! 🙂 Have a super sunny day! 🙂

  9. I love your cute blog – thank for stopping by mine! Definitely with you about books & coffee – I can’t function without my cup of coffee in the morning, and nothing is better than a good book…except maybe for a good book AND a good cup of coffee 😉

  10. Oh my gosh. #7. Didn’t you just LOVE that place? I have been there a few times ( living in England made it easy) and really can’t wait to take my husband there someday. It’s one of my favorite places in the world. #6. YES. Every single day I can’t believe I get to wake up next to my best friend. and the last one. You must be in WIsconsin/Minnesota?! We moved to Korea from Madison, WI with roots in both MN and WI. Are you surviving the cold?!?!? I cringe when I think about the winter you all have had. Can’t wait to read more.
